Patrick and his wife, Carole, joined Lakewood in 1986 and they have been active in various ministries of the church ever since. Patrick co-teaches one of the young adult Bible Fellowship classes and has previously served LBC as the Children’s Minister. He is now serving as the Director of Family Life Ministries.
Patrick believes that he was wonderfully blessed in growing up in a Christian home. He says, “One of my fondest memories is that of my father praying for our family every morning as I sleepily made my way to the kitchen for breakfast. He would be kneeling at our piano bench, and I could hear him lifting each of us up to God.”
Patrick accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 12. “My mother, a pianist and music educator, always had music playing in the house. I had been listening to The Gaither’s “Alleluia” recording, and I heard a testimony on the album that deeply affected me. I knew that I needed the same relationship with Jesus that I had just heard about.”
Christian music has been a favorite of Patrick’s ever since, and the wonderful music program at Lakewood, along with its active children’s department, was the reason Patrick and Carole initially visited the church. Expecting their first child, they joined the church, where they have since raised their three daughters and now have grandchildren who are active in the children’s division.
Patrick has been married to his wife, Carole, since 1984. They live in Smiths Station, surrounded by their growing family.
