Andrew Spires (Drew) has served at Lakewood Baptist Church for the last fifteen-plus years. Most of that time was spent as the Student & Young Pastor before answering God’s call to become the Lead Pastor of LBC. Overall, Drew has served in three different local churches in the Columbus-Phenix City area and has twenty-nine years of ministry experience. He is a Columbus, GA native who grew up at Edgewood Baptist Church of Columbus. He attended Christian Heritage Academy, Columbus College (now CSU), and Immanuel Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been married to Paige Keeter Spires of Phenix City, AL for the last twenty-seven years. They have always served the local church together as Paige has also been a lay leader for girls’ small groups and the women’s ministry. They have two adult children, Jordan Spires Baker, now married to Jacob Baker of Phenix City, AL, and Colt Spires of Columbus, GA. Jordan and Colt are active members of Lakewood Baptist Church and both serve weekly as small-group leaders within the student ministry. Drew and Paige love the outdoors, their two dogs, the Atlanta Braves, and the Georgia Bulldogs. Drew’s life verse is John 3:30; “He must increase, I must decrease.”
