Latest Sermon

We are walking through a short five-week journey through the epistles of the Apostle John. The author is John, the last living of the original disciples, the son of Zebedee, brother of James, one of the sons of thunder, part of the inner three, and the disciple whom Jesus loved. John is the writer of five New Testament books (the Gospel of John, 1, 2, 3 John, & Revelation). Likely written from Ephesus between 80-95AD, this collection of letters (1, 2, 3 John) are some of the last letters included in the New Testament. John writes this general epistle to combat early forms of Gnosticism (to know/knowledge). In other words, John is combatting false teachers and teachings about the deity and divinity of Jesus. Let’s look at the short three letters and see how they still impact our lives and practice today.
