"For Such a Time as This"- The Book of Esther
Esther, along with the book of Ruth, is one of only two books of the Bible named for women among the sixty-six. Interestingly, Esther is one of only two books in the Bible that do not mention God by name; the other being the Song of Solomon. Also, no New Testament author quotes from the book of Esther. However, God's Providential Hand & Sovereign protection are key themes of the book & God’s ‘fingerprints’ are evident everywhere. As we saw in our Exodus study, God providentially takes care of
His people in the Old Testament. In the book of Esther, God will again rescue His chosen people from a threat that could have wiped them off the face of the earth. God has called all His people to live differently, to act boldly, & to trust in His ability to provide protection. Join me as we take a deeper look at a book that speaks much about our current day & time.
