Linda Scarborough Keown serves Lakewood as the Music Assistant. Linda is from Phenix City and did not become a Christian until her early 20s. She later felt God’s call into full time ministry and moved to Graceville, FL, to attend Baptist Bible Institute, now The Baptist College of FL. During college she served Newton Baptist Church, Newton, AL as Minister of Music & Youth and during her senior year answered the call from Holland Creek Baptist Church, Phenix City, to serve as full time Minister of Music & Youth.  She received her Bachelor Degree in Church Music in 1984 and continued at Holland Creek until marrying Charles Keown in 1987.

Linda and Charles have 4 children. Their only daughter, Joy, is a professional cellist in Baton Rouge, LA and is co-owner of Grace Notes Music Studio there. She is married to Grant Bedillion who is a professional violist. Their son Jon and his wife Kasey live in Phenix City, AL. Jon is a graduate of Columbia International University and plays viola and guitar. Jon works for WildLeap in LaGrange, GA. Kasey has a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Jon & Kasey have 2 daughters...Ava and Eden.
Jes finished Columbus State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and now serves in the United States Coast Guard. He wed Elizabeth Hamilton, our former Pastor's daughter and they have 3 daughters...Raelynn, Willa, (born on Charles and Jes' birthdays, Feb 13), and Lucy. He plays violin and a variety of sports. J.D. plays piano and guitar and in the past, the bagpipes. He graduated from Calvary Christian in Columbus, GA.

Even though Linda and her 3 brothers were not active in church as they were growing up, two of her brothers are both Pastors of Churches in Alabama and her oldest brother is founder of MorningStar International Ministries.
